I bought 4 little fish (1/2 in.) from WalMart 3 months ago labeled as parrot fish (2 intense pink, 1 blue and 1 green). While Green didn't make it through the night, within days Blue and Pinky were obviously best friends, while Pink had retreated to a different plant area in my 55 gal. tank, already populated with 6 gourami males and a platy couple.
On July 9th (incidentally my birthday too) Blue and Pinky came out of their little cave with 12 babies and have been terrorizing the tank ever since, managing to keep all 12 babies alive and well.
The parents are by now pale pink, too, but the mommy (Pinky) is developing some orange on her belly and fins.
Should I move the parrots to a different tank? Should I move the gourami to a new tank or should I expect them to continue coexisting on their terms?
Thanks,

baby pink parrots
Parrot are very aggressive since they're a type of cichlid, so the gouramis won't stand much of a chance against them.

Re: baby pink parrots
Thanks for the info. BTW, the link doesn't work.

I don't think either three spot or giant gourami are very compatible with blood parrots to start with, and having babies in the tank will increase aggression of all concerned, if you have another tank I think moving one or the other is a wise choice
Re: baby pink parrots
Thanks, I'll move the gourami, as the parrots seem very happy in there.
