Hi all...I have a question I hope you can answer.

Hi all,

My name is Bonnie, and these are my Parrot Cichlids, I have 2 Blood Parrot Cichlids(Jack & Gimpy) and 3 Jellybean Cichlids(Straw-white & Berry-pink & Lemon-yellow), I have had Jack and Gimpy for a few years now and just added the Jellybeans. My only question so far......how do you sex jellybeans? I know that female Bloods have a tube that indicate the sex, both of my Bloods are female. Do you sex them the same way? I also have 9 Tiger Barbs, 6 Black Widow(Skirts) Tetras, and 2 Albino Cories(Cat & Cory). My aquarium is a 55 gallon. I really enjoy these lil guys. I cannot find any information about the Jellybeans.

I think you sex them the same as blood parrots,there are two types of jellybeans,the first are dyed to give them vibrant colours(not good)and usually have candy or fruity sounding names,if this is the case, expect the colour to slowly fade, the second is the fry produced by a blood parrot female crossed with a male pink convict,jellybeans tend to be a little smaller(not much) and can be a little more aggressive due to the nature of the convict parent

I know that some breeders dye the jellybeans, and I think thats cruel, the ones I bought were white, light pink, and slight yellow. I kinda assumed that you would sex them like a blood cichlid. Thanks again for replying.
