Possible emergency...

There is a hurricane warning for P.R. and we lose electric power almost every week may be one to three hours per week. Im worried for my Jellybeans P and C (2 in a 55gl) and a little Jewel (Rubi) in a 10 gl, wich I wanted to move today to a 55gl, but we have to get ready in case we get hit..Does anyone knows how to keep them ok in case that power goes out? Do battery filters do the job? Any help is greatly app! Thanks! By the way, hurricane is supposed to pass very close or hit tomorrow evening.God bless us, and you too.

if you are unable to buy a

if you are unable to buy a battery operated pump...YOur fish can survive in unoxygenated water for atleast 12 hrs....remove around 25% water and add fresh water every 3-4 hrs. This should keep her water well oxygenated.

My friend had kept a BP in a tank without an air pump for a month before returning it to a fish store. All he did was a water change every 12 hrs....

i would think a battery pump

i would think a battery pump would be better then nothing. they should have one in a pet shop by you. i try to keep at least 1 type in stock at my shop. also you can get one at most places that sell live bait. ppl use them to help keep the bait in a bait bucket alive. i think you can also buy some kind of power strip that has a battery back up so it runs for awhile after the power goes out but i think if you can find 1 it will be expensive.

still searching...

Yes I've thought on that and went by a near store...nothing. ..tomorrow I will keep searching..Thanks.
