i have just found out my B.P's don't like my air pump they are really quite shy some times my tank may aswell be empty however last night while watching a movie i turned off my air pump to hear my movie better and since i turned it off they have been out and about and not hiding in my plants ireally can't believe how much they are out. how important is it to keep your water oxygenated any advice would be appreciated

i use powerheads too and my parrots all seem fine with them. if your tank is not over stocked and you have a very good filter moving lots of water you might be ok without one but i dont like to take that chance myself.

Its pretty important but what

Its pretty important but what you could try is a powerhead, it gets the water moving and is good for breaking the surface to allow more oxygen to be dissolved. They cost like $20 at Walmart.
