This my blood Parrot in a 55 gallon. I bought him In this large adult size. he was in a im gonna say 75 to 120 gal with some large oscars. red devils, green severum. and a few other varities of cichlids. all getting along comfortably. I jusu passed through the gallery and noticed a few tanks with some fairly large parrots in small settings. If your going to house large fish, they should be in large set ups. If your starting out with a small parrot beleive me it will grow and so should your set up along with it. To keep your fish happy and healthy. My 55gal has one large parrot a large oscar one large red hook and a few bottom dwellers an albino cat a pleco and a dinosaur eel. My tank is very happy and running well. But i stop here my fish have plenty of room to move nad be happy. You want to make sure your tank is properly set up for the size and varity of fish you have.

I Love your Tank
I think your tank is gorgeous and your fish too! One of the best looking 55's that I've seen.
Re: I Love your Tank
Thank you very much for your comment. I take alot of pride in my tank. Alot of time and work goes into my set up. Thank you
Re: Large Parrots
Was the Oscar ok with you adding the parrot?
Adding the Parrot
Yes the oscar actually was fine. He is actually one of the most passive oscars ive ever had. They can be very aggresive fish i know. However the parrot was from the same tank as the oscar, they may have been used to eachother. Not sure how to explain this. I watched the tank they were in for awhile and was actually quite inpresssed with the way everyone was getting along, almost like a community tank. I took opertunity to get some fish from this tank and there carrying on the same way in my tank at home.
Re: Adding the Parrot
My oscars the same way, he likes to hang out with the smallest parrot in the tank.
Re: Large Parrots
i agree with u which is why i wonder how ur gonna keep all those large fish in a 55 gallon? r u going to get a bigger 1? it looks like an awsome tank, but the bp and oscar alone will outgrow that tank. its a beautiful tank though :)
tank size
Yes i do plan on upgrading to a 120 gal set up very soon. However my parrot and oscar are maxed out as far as size goes. If they get any larger it would be due to overfeeding and they would just be fat. I feed every other day. 2 large floating cichlid pellets per fish. also i incorporate krill and bloodworms in their diet.
