I have two parrot fish that I have owned for 2 months now. One of the parrot fish keeps laying eggs every 2-3 weeks. I thought they were both female because they both seem to have the same parts down below. I have researched that they could indeed be both female. In any event, the eggs are always infertile turning white and the fish are not eating them as I have read they usually do.
I don't like the eggs, they look gross, and the fish also act strange days leading up and then guard the egss like crazy until I have to clean them out.
Anyone know if this is going to continue happening every few weeks....I really hope not.
Also I had a bad case of Planaria,,,cleaned the whole tank, the rocks, and have been feeding them much less and still have planaria, not as bad but still there.
Any advice??

Re: Parrot keeps laying eggs
sorry but they might keep doing this 4 awhile :( ur tank must be in good shape though if they keep laying eggs! (i know that doesnt stop the hassle) and yes, 2 girls can lay eggs. the best thing u can do is just vacume them out right away when it happens. anything else i could say to possibly slow them down on laying eggs would also make ur fish uncomfortable :(
