Thank you all for the advice on all the algae that appeared in my tank. I got sick of looking at it for almost 2 weeks and finally laid out the cash for a diatom filter after getting so-so results with other methods. I can't say enough about how GREAT my tank looks - clean sparkly water and the tank looks like new. My 4 BPs: Sunny (the newest little yellow bp), Tom&Jerry (the big guys) and the Andrew fish (medium guy), and the pleco (shadow) seem so happy. The snail isn't green anymore eithe (his entire shell was covered with algae)! The process took a few hours to fiter out all the nasty green algae bloom AND all the brown algae that accumulated on the plants!!!! I am ecstatic and I highy recommend the Vortex diatom, really really worth every penny. It took me a little while to assemble and figure out how to charge it, but not bad at all. Especially when the bag turns all green instead of the tank!

im really happy u found something that works! all that algea is ugly to look at. especially when it takes away from the beauty of all ur fish! :)
