Is it normal for them to skip meals?

I am new to owning  two Blood Parrot fish. I know they like to hide and they are very shy fish, but my fish seem to be hiding for so long sometimes they don't want to come out and eat. Is this normal?

Okay i aggree

I definty aggree because it took one of my bps 2 and a half weeks to get usded to me the other 2 days because here iswas another bp in the tank

sudden changes ...

sudden changes will also result in a feeding stall, recently upgraded my girls from a 30 gallon tank to a sixty.... took two days to get everything set up properly, and now my little ladies dont eat where i can see them. Im certain they are eating when nI am not present, and they are truly upset w/ me but their size was a big issue in the much smaller tank....fingers crossed folks, I think they will be fine!!!

shy?

yes, its pretty normal, they will eat when your not looking, before feeding, spend time sitting by the tank, dont make sudden movements, they will soon be waiting for you, it can take weeks for them to lose their shyness, if only one comes out to eat, have a look around for eggs, and dont overfeed, you r online, come to the chat room
