fish murder please help!

someone please help me! i had a couple posts about my fighting bps. i also have an angel. welltoday i bought 3 more angels (i thought it would help distract my bullying bp, plus i luv angels) well they chased them at first,i thought it was just to show whos boss. but i turned off the light 4 a while,then turned it back on to check on things and 2 of the new ones were dead! 1 with half his face gone and 1 with his eyes gone! i cant stop crying! i have 2 parrots,1 angel,and 3 high fin tetras and i dont know who did it! all the research iv done says none would do it,but someone did! im thinking of giving up my tank. maybe im just an awful fish mom. btw its a 55 gallon. i love my tank,i just want a happy tank! i love angels,but i just got,and also love my bps. i dont know what to do! please help me before i sell the tank! i just dont want anything more to die.

I agree with the other post, either parrots or angels, but its no wonder you get confused, if you go to a fish compatibility site , it will tell you that they are compatible, and some people do have both, so i think it also depends on a lot of other factors, ie tank size, sex of fish and their own personalities

55 galls is fine for 2 BP and adding a third might help the bullying, but you would need to give the angel his own place,he will be happier, they like tall tanks and become aggressive if spawning, your angels may have had an illness or even just the move may have been too much,then of course all that other fish would try to eat any dead fish, we have all lost fish just after getting them, that's why shops give 5 day money back guarantees, don't rush into anything, bullying between parrots hardly ever comes to much and settles(with some exceptions) within 5-6 weeks,I feel that your parrots wouldn't have killed them so quickly, they have no teeth,never worry about what to fill a tank up with when you have parrots, they grow big, dont give up, fish need caring owners like you

I'm so sorry you have lost your fish. It's always difficult when we lose our pets. I have been told that angel fish can be quite nasty with each other, which is a shame because they are beautiful fish. As for the BP's, I've got 4 of them & they paired off two by two. I had major bullying going on, so I had to separate two of them to another tank. Good luck.

You are fully stocked with just the 1 angel and the 2 bp's. So don't try adding any more large fish. also angels are solitary fish and should be kept 1 angel per tank. Angels will attack the weaker angel and do what you described so it may not have been your bp's that did it. As for the BP's fighting, it's been my experience that bp's don't get along in pairs. I had to buy a 2nd tank to seperate them. You may need to decide which to keep and which to tank back to the store.

sorry not trying to be like nosing into your conversation but angels are most definitely not solitary, but are actually schoolers, :) and to help out with your murder mystery I can guarantee it was your parrots (why I've watched mine attempt to savagely murder angels) although it may sometimes work, not in most cases, parrots are quite aggressive towards the delicate angels. What I would do, would be to either leave your tank with just the parrots, or just the angels, because the two species don't seem to get along. :) hope i somewhat helped :)

my angels had to

be removed into their own tank.too!! i had bought 2 bp and put them in the tank with my angels ,right away i could see the bp`s getting territorial even if they weren't there first .then it seemed that they settled down so the next morning when i woke up ,my angels had bruises on them .i seen the bp`s ram right into the angels so my decision was very easy. but the cost of another tank after buying the two parrots were a lesson learned. next time instead of asking the pet store if those fish would get along ,id go online to check out a site like this one for my answers.good luck.what have you done to correct your problem?

thank u 4 ur advice,but if i do take 1 of my bps back what should i fill the tank up with? what fish will go with 1 bp and 1 angel?
