bp ex friends

i was hoping someone could help me please! im so sick of worrying about my fish and things r so close to good! i have a 55 gallon tank with a little angel,3 high fin tetras, and an algea eater. about 2 weeks ago i got 2 bp's (ones a little bigger than the other) and all was just fine, they were the best of friends! 1 wouldnt do anything without the other. now the bigger 1 wont stop chasing the other! all the time. hes fine with everyone else, but when it comes to the other bp he thinks he owns everything in the tank. i dont know what to do. the little 1 is still eating and still swims around, but today i noticed  what looks like black smudges on his nose and up by his top fin! i dont know what it is. i feel so bad 4 him. the tank is big enough (the biggest bp is only about 3 1/2'' long ) and there is about 4 different hiding spots so they could feel secure, but the big 1 seems to claim them all. i dont know what to do,about the black smudges or the bullying. i dont want them to be unhappy or get a disease. can someone please help me,i know a little but not enough. please?

this may all settle down, its normal behaviour,it might help if you knew their sex, 2 weeks isent long for them to find their places,if you didn't have the angel, a 3rd parrot would help, the black is a sign that everything is nor quite right, often it improves with small frequent water changes or when the situation improves, I have 4 and my biggest still chases everything else, 3 would be better, look underneath, females have a breeding tube like this U and males like this V, it took mine around 6 weeks to settle, in the meantime, although it looks bad, little real damage is unlikely as they have no teeth so can only ram each other

Re: bp ex friends

I had the same issue with my 2 bp's when I first got them. Eventually the bigger was getting the best of the smaller one and he couldn't come out of his hiding hole. I ended up getting a 2nd tank to seperate them. It's my opinion that BPs don't get along in pairs but that is from my own personal experience.
