Feed your parrots only the food specially developed for parrot fish as they contain all the necessary nutrients. Over feeding has to be strictly prevented. Fasting for once a week is not a bad idea.

i would definitely say feed them twice a day when they are that small. when they get older you can wean them down to once a day, but when they are little is when you can safely feed them more often and it will help them grow. i also agree with fasting them once per week.

The general rule of thumb is to only feed them as much food as they can eat in 2 minutes. If any floating food gets to the bottom, stop feeding. I've heard that the fish stomache is about the size of their eye.
The pet store was right about over feeding. Many problems are caused by over feeding fish. I actually fast mine once a week.
I feed my fish twice a day. 8 am and 8 pm. Mornings are floating flakes and night is sinking pellets. Twice a week I feed mine thawed, shelled frozen peas as a treat mid day. It's really good for the digestion. One problem Bp's can have is swim bladder problems. This is caused by constipation. The peas will help with that.
