Can their attitude be detoxed?

I recently bought 2 blood parrots (will call A and B...havent named them yet :) that at the time seemed like very happy social fish.  They were in their new home for a few days and a salesman in the fish store told me that the male and female convicts that he choose for me would mesh with my blood parrots.  The convicts started a new family immediately and kept the bps confined to their cave.  The bps are now extremely timid and nervous.  I removed the male convict and added (C and D.....2 very happy and non shy bps (they come to me and practically eat out of my hand).  The female convict has calmed down.  B....the shy and nervous bp has calmed down and now comes out of hidding.  A...The bossier and more nervous only comes out to boss and flare his fins and chases the others around.  C gets chases by A and B but can swim and hang out more with them.....never by their caves though.....  But poor D....my favorite.....gets chased to his corner by the heater and filter and rarely comes out unless he/she sees me and wants to eat at which time the "chasers" go hide.

Will everyone calm down and enjoy their new home or have I ruined the temperment of my new little buddies?

Re: Can their attitude be detoxed?

They are in a 55 gal. tank. I have a full coverage large plant, a med coverage large plant and a few small-small coverage ones, a piece of driftwood with at least 4 hiding/resting spots, a limestone type rock with two holes and two 10 or so oz. overturned clay pots...... "A" claims them ALL now. He/she bullies B, C and D away from it all but wants them to be with him/her when he/she eats. "B" swims/eats with yet chases C and D only. C doesnt seem to care right now. But my problem is "D".... he/she was my favorite...the most social. He/she hides all the time now and has developed the black spots on his fins and side. Seems very unhappy, and will not even come eat with the rest of them. He/she taught them that they can eat from my fingers now he/she wont come out :(

Is my 55 gal not big enough for them either? Is this how Red Blood Parrot tanks behave???? Would they still do this in a even larger tank?

"Atitude"

Depends on tank size, for 4 parrots you need at least 40 - 50 galls otherwise you do get aggression problems
