dyed parrots
kolton, I know you are against dyed and tattoed parrots, so how come you have ended up with a pair?also, lipstick parrots refer to the fact that the lips have been tattoed to look like lipstick,
Re: dyed parrots
Since I was young my aunt would always take me out to buy just about whatever I wanted for my birthday, but for the past couple of years though I haven't been able to go with her to pick out something and since she knew that I loved my fish so much, she decided to surprise me by buying these fish for me. I had never seen any fish like these and so I researched them and then found this site. That is when I found out about them being dyed and tattooed and how most of them die in the process.
dyed parrots
I think a lot of people don't realize parrots (and other fish) are being dyed, we have a great platform here to educate potential owners , last year there was an influx of parrots being tattooed with hearts and kisses for valentines day, ugh!!!I just dident want any members looking at yours and thinking its all alright, thanks Kolton
Re: dyed parrots
I know, I added a comment on all the dyed parrots on my site, (remember if you see one like that on my site that isn't commented on with a 'we do not support this' kind label, as a mod on there you can comment on it.) The way a lot of the stores around here have them is with other fish with just as much color as the dyed parrots so people don't think twice before thinking its some kind of new fish or one they haven't seen before and that it is there natural color and markings.
Re: Beak Shape?
I also have a pair of Jellybean (Convict) Parrots and they are only half the size of this pair. Tang (bottom) is about 6 1/2 in and Nemo (top) is about 5in. The pet store had them named as "Lipstick Parrots".--EDIT: My Jellybeans aren't dyed, just my parrots.--
convicts
Those look like pink convict cichlids to me... not entirely sure though. They have definitely been injected with dye's though
