Re: fruit
they have teeth, but they're deeper inside the mouth, so they cant bite chunks off.
Re: Re: fruit
thats what i thought
tomatoes
When I do the tomatoes, I literally scratch small chunks out with my nails. They eat it right up
tomatoes
mine loved it!(but should they be eating it?) I know many fish in the wild eat berries and seeds that fall into the water, in fact some seeds are viable after they pass through the gut and grow on the river banks, silver dollars are mostly herbivorous, and if you have them the main part of their diet should be vegetable based ie pellets and veggies, as chicken for instance can cause bloating, another good reason to feed peas, I go along the lines of if they dont eat it, dont feed it
Re: tomatoes
lol, dunno. mine have been fine after their tomato meals
tomato.. strawberry...
I give mine little fish bite size pieces of tomato one at a time as well as strawberry. If I put too much in at once though it will rot. I think those are the only fruits I have tried though. I have seen fish stores put slices of cucumber, etc, but I don't think my parrots would be able to eat off pieces of an entire slice, since they don't have external teeth to bite off pieces (do they?)
fruit/cucumber
I do put cucumber in but I cut a slice in half and they have a go at the soft side, the corys finish the rest off, there's only the skin to remove, I put it in a clip so the parrots can try it, am going to try some tomato now
Re: tomato.. strawberry...
No I don't think they have teeth, just the muscle inside their mouth.
